The painting illustrates preparations for departure of one of many large barge-units from South Korea to Sakhalin Island.
FOSS Maritime, the Seattle tug-and-barge operator won a contract with Exxon Neftgas Ltd., to haul prefabricated oil field processing equipment and freight to the booming oil region of Sakhalin Island, off Russia's east coast north of Japan.
The most critical pieces of equipment being moved to Sakhalin are the oil modules, worth tens of millions of dollars each, which are completed sections of factories, that process and pump the crude oil.
The 36 modules Foss is delivering to Sakhalin are being built in Ulsan, South Korea, by Hyundai Heavy Industries, a Korean company. Foss also is delivering to Sakhalin 500 containers of oil field equipment.
