Artist's Description

To the calling of the sea, out from mooring, dock and slip, through the harbor they glide, drawing seaward to the swirling of the tide, craft of many a build and trim, sail on, sail on, thou fearless ships, where'er blows the welcome wind.
Excerpts from poetry by Sir Thomas Moore and Bliss Carman.
Tall Ships watercolor painting by artist James Williamson.

Artist James Williamson, ASMA
Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artists

To the men and women who know the wheels kick and the winds song, this painting is dedicated.
Wind-ships & square-riggers became representative of Pacific Commerce built for West Coast Pacific Ocean service basing their operations at West Coast Ports. This gallant fleet of sailing vessels represented the majority of the finest and largest vessels ever built. Among them were the Abner Coburn of Seattle and James Drummond of San Francisco. Two of the vessels illustrated in your giclee limited edition Tall Ships.
