USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) Ship Motto that this nation, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people by the people for the people Shall Not Perish from this earth.
The USS Abraham Lincoln arrives in Everett, Washington May 6, 2003, after nearly 10 months at sea, greeted by a welcoming crowd of thousands. About 3,000 sailors were onboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, which tied up to its home pier at Naval Station Everett shortly after 10 a.m. Tulalip tribal members offered a homecoming welcome song as the vessel approached its berth. The 1,100-foot ship left Everett on July 20, 2002, and returned May 6, 2003, one of the longest deployments of a nuclear-powered carrier since Vietnam.
